The cover belies the content - it‘s actually a quite cozy mystery. 😊
One of my favorites in the Sloan and Crosby series thus far, a murder takes place in the fortune-telling tent (the only connection to the cover) at a village fete. Compounding the mystery are an heiress to the the Priory estate (scene of the murder), who may not be who she says she is, and some funny business in the judging of tomatoes. A fun one!

Librarybelle I would never guess this is a cozy from the cover! 😂 2y

Fun, little mystery in the Inspector CD Sloan series. DI Sloan is typically hampered in his investigations by his underling, DC Crosby, and his superior, Superintendent Leeyes. In this 9th installment, Crosby actually seems to be learning as they attempt to find the murderer of the District Nurse, who was dressed up as a fortune teller for the village garden show. Plus the new heiress in the village may not be who she seems. 4.0/5.0 ⭐️ #2019
