This is a memoir from David Crow about childhood on the Navajo reservation with an abusive father and mentally ill mother. It includes how the author overcome his childhood and was also able to let go and forgive. A must read for anyone who also liked the memoir “educated”.

I am enjoying this book so far. When I was a teenager I thought I had it rough, but my childhood was far from being as horrible as this kid's was. My parents never abused me, never manipulated me, and never did anything bad to me looking back now (at the time I thought the disagreements and restrictions I had were the end of the world). I feel so my compassion and sympathy for the author

🎧 What an interesting book.

A slice of life on the Navajo Indian reservation in the 50‘s & 60‘s. A horrible abusive father. A loony mom. A strict step-mom. A child with faults that grew up to be better without his family.

I don‘t want to give away some of the story but there‘s a surprise or two. Some adult language & violence.

Good narration. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
