It was okay but I didn‘t like the ending… although the next book in the series is supposed to clear that up

Edmund remains totally disapproving of the whole home am-dram concept, but when Tom suggests bringing in some rando to join the fun, he's absolutely aghast. The impropriety! Tom also tries to get Fanny to join in, but our girl's morals are iron-clad and she refuses. The same cannot be said for Edmund who decides that joining in himself would be the lesser of two evils and in a total weaksauce move, he tries to get Fanny to absolve him. Boy, bye.

Crinoline_Laphroaig Edmund acting like he's just doing it to save Mary Crawford's feelings which he just jealous. He's such a love struck fool 9h
Andrea313 @Crinoline_Laphroaig Exactly, and on top of it all, he gets to congratulate himself for "saving" her honor. Edmund is at his absolute worst here. ? 9h

While sitting in the hospital for hours and picking up my kindle again I made it out of my reading slump with Freida‘s help. #19of2025

#LittensLoveSJM #TOG Book 2 Ch 10-12: has Celaena lost her edge? I feel like she should be better than getting poisoned by a mark/she should anticipate these types of things. Now the question is- did Archer set her up? Or is he innocent in the whole thing? And why did his client have that book? Too bad she couldn‘t have brought it to Nehemia to translate. Thank heavens Celaena made it to Chaol - one of the only people she could trust to help her.

BarkingMadRead That was so stressful, and really not good for an assassin to get caught like that! 12h
mcctrish I wondered about Archer too 11h

Butterfinger It was hard to get through the trafficking part. And, how many names does that girl have? 10h
Littlewolf1 She always tends to be reckless, and seems to have an “ I can‘t be touched” mentality. But that has gotten her into trouble in the past, and the reason why she lost Sam. While I don‘t like the fact that she got hurt, I think she needed a reminder that she is human and needs to be more careful, because she‘s not the only one at risk if she gets caught. 6h
5feet.of.fury Agree about Archer, that seemed like really convenient timing. Celaena def got too cocky. 1h

So cute! I thought there was enough holiday vibes here, plus there was depth and spice. And I do love the grumpy/sunshine trope, and in this case, the MMC was the sunshine!

#bookspinbingo - this is my #bookspin for this month!

Mehso-so

Mmmm I thought this was YA, since the MC is 16, but…maybe like older YA?? It was alright. The story felt a little half-baked, and it was a lot of sitting around and waiting for things to happen. Also, how in this small town has no one noticed a BASEMENT full of goths going missing???

Every now and then, I find myself yearning to read something silly and fun. Stephanie Plum always fits the bill and this installment in the series was no exception. There were a number of lol moments while Stephanie et al. worked on catching the bad guys. Excellent palate cleanser. 3.5⭐️

tpixie Yes she is!! I read to be of them in a row and got a little tired of them, but I am kind of miss Stephanie and her antics. I do read JD Rob‘s eve Dallas books that are also a pallet cleanser for me that are not near as funny. I just like going back to her friends. 13h
PurpleyPumpkin @tpixie Admittedly, it‘s been some time since I last read a book in this series. I enjoy them, but in small doses. Reading each book in succession starts to feel exhausting! But when I‘ve been away from them for a bit, I find them quite enjoyable. I‘ve never read JD Robb, so I‘ll have to check out those books!😉 12h
MemoirsForMe Sounds like a fun read! I have yet to read one of her books. 12h
CarolynM Exactly why I still read them🙂 7h

People keep asking me what I‘m reading. The past month I was traveling and preparing for an upcoming musical theater gig, planning kiddo‘s birthday party, getting her to her various obligations; I‘ve got zero bandwidth to spare. What‘s the best thing to tell people when the truth is: copious amounts of digital smut because I can‘t concentrate on anything else? 😆🤪🤣

Ruthiella Haha. 😆 Maybe just always keep the first page of some “OK for the public” book on tap and say that is what you are reading. (edited) 13h
Prairiegirl_reading 🤣🤣 whatever works!! 13h
Suet624 I always go with “the world is falling apart and I have no bandwidth for reading.” 13h

GingerAntics This is when you pop out something they definitely will not ask more about like “I‘m muddling through Voltaire in the original French. Just me and my French dictionary.” The only follow up question you‘ll even get is “why?” Say something vague and academic sounding… “intellectual edification” or “warding my brain against Alzheimer‘s” and people will leave you alone. They‘ll think you‘re vaguely nuts, but they will definitely never ask what… 12h
GingerAntics …you‘re reading again! 12h

I‘m still having a good time on Not-Hoth, but I‘ve got to space these out. The line-by-line writing quality started to get me in this one, which just felt more drawn out than the first two, though I loved the more active plot in this one and am curious to read the next when I get to it.
