I enjoyed my time in this world as much as with the first installment but the actual plot line was not as good. Robert has finally made it to the Corps but war is not what he had imagined.

I‘ve spent the week with this series, and WOW! Excellent world building, diverse and complex characters, a rollicking plot with historical accuracy. I can‘t say enough good things about these books. I seriously hope that there will be a third book.

This was a wonderful, better-paced sequel that I was excited to receive from #netgalley! This book focuses on the fighting front in World War I and how our protagonist Robert, the first male philosopher rescue flier in this alternate history/fantasy, fares along with his squadron. The author really did his historical research to ground the fantastical elements in reality, and it shows. Out on July 16th!

Up at my future in-law‘s place in New Hampshire for the three day weekend! Relaxing with this arc from #netgalley out by the fire pit after a long day of Home Depot sales, craft fairs, and yard work 🔥

DGRachel I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the first book. Excited to see there‘s a sequel coming soon. 😊 5y
danimgill @DGRachel Yes, it‘ll be out July 16th! And I‘m actually enjoying this sequel more than the first, so hopefully you‘ll find the same when the time comes 😁 5y
