Reminiscent of the Elizabeth Smart case, Pretty Girl-13 is a disturbing and powerful psychological thriller about a girl who must piece together the mystery of her kidnapping and abuse. Perfect for fans of books like Jay Asher's Thirteen Reasons Why, Elizabeth Scott's Living Dead Girl, and Caroline B. Cooney's The Face on the Milk Carton series, Pretty Girl-13 is a haunting yet ultimately uplifting story about the healing power of courage, hope, and love. Angie Chapman was thirteen years old when she ventured into the woods on a Girl Scout camping trip. Now she's returned home . . . only to find that it's three years later and she's sixteenor at least that's what everyone tells her. What happened to the last three years of her life? With a tremendous amount of courage, Angie embarks on a journey to discover the fragments of her lost time. She eventually discovers a terrifying secret and must decide: what do you do when you remember things you wish you could forget?

Wow!! What a read!! Riveting, gripping. Severely underrated book. Purchased it months and months ago on book outlet for $2.49...so happy I finally read it and will be passing this on to a friend. Highly recommend this one. Kudos to Liz Coley who handled the subject matter with finesse throughout the story and then in her afterword. A great buddy read...really wish I would have read this with someone!

I started this a couple of days ago and the first sitting I only read to p 36, and I was like, meh...and then, the second sitting I flew all the way to p186 and the only reason why I stopped was because it was 1 am...really interesting YA read involving sexual abuse, kidnapping and Dissociative Identity Disorder...fascinating.

I got totally sucked into this story, in spite of how awful the back cover blurb was. It is a psychological thriller that reads like a YA Urban Fantasy without actually being fantasy at all. It was a good thing in my book. You can read the full review on the blog. (Www.foldedpagesdistillery.com)

JanuarieTimewalker13 @NovelPairing just finished it and I loved it. Have you read Room? I liked it, but honestly, I think I liked this one better! I don't understand how this hasn't gotten more exposure! 8y
