#septphotochallenge WEIRD BOOKS! Everything by Shane Jones. The Crystal Eaters is my favorite so far. In a fictional village a young girl tries to save her dying mother. Everyone is born with 100 crystals in their body. As you endure sickness, injury, and illness, your crystals deplete. Zero crystals = death. And the pages of the book count backwards, as though youre losing crystals too! Spooky!

TR: A dense work of hallucinogenic fiction that at times feels whimsical, psychedelic, and then hits you in the eye with stark reality, death and horror, like a good trip gone hellish bad.

It is a unique writing, but wasn't my type, that's way (so-so). You may like it though.
