This was the most I've enjoyed a McFadden novel. I keep reading her books, hoping to understand why so many people like them. Honestly, the endorsement from Riley Sager didn't hurt in getting me to give this one a try.
The Tenant was an enjoyable read. I didn't like the main character, so it was enjoyable reading about his misfortunes. There were a few good twists in there, too. Overall, it's a pretty good read.

I‘ve learned with Freida McFadden‘s books that you just need to put all sense of reality and likelihood aside and just enjoy the crazy ride 😂. This one is particularly crazy with a host of unlikable characters behaving badly and making each other‘s lives miserable (or murderous). There were a few twists I didn‘t see coming so I‘m counting this one as a win! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another 2 star book from this author for me. This gave me Housemaid vibes. I guessed the ending pretty quick, and absolutely no one was likable in this book. The main character would gawk at women, then in the next breath say how great of a guy he was and such a good catch. Gimme a break 🙄. I understand he wasn't supposed to be likable, but it got annoying fast. It is a fast read, but the twists and characters are lacking. 2/5

However, strange occurrences start to plague Blake, and he suspects Whitney is sabotaging his life and relationship with his fiancée, Krista.

•A couple takes on a roommate—what could go wrong? It turns out, plenty could go wrong, especially when Freida is in charge of the storytelling. This turned out to be quite fun, even though it wasn‘t always believable…like could all of “that” really be pulled off?
•Will Damron & Christine Lakin were wonderful, especially considering I don‘t usually like the narrators that she has for her books.

Unlike other McFadden books I‘ve read, this had a slower pace. It delved deeply into MC‘s character development, which kept me engaged throughout the story. While I anticipated the twists, they didn‘t unfold as quickly as I had expected, but the wait was worth it. The twists were well-crafted and made for a fantastic read.

McFadden is so inconsistent. I‘ve very much enjoyed a few of her books, but this felt like a (bad) very famous thriller rip off. Just like The Crash reeked of a (bad) Misery rip off. Take a breath, take some time, and write something thoughtful. And for the love, say “brownstone” one more time. Lord. I‘m done with her books for a while.

This was really good! I didn't see the twist coming. As usual, every single character was unlikable, but it was gripping from the start.

I sped through Freida‘s new audiobook in a couple of days. This one kept me guessing as to which directions the twists were going to take and I was not disappointed. Her books are great to get sucked into. Perfect escapism. 4.5⭐️

I knew a twist was coming but still didn‘t guess it! This one started out a little silly but in true Freida fashion, it all comes together at the end and makes total, twisty sense😳

I‘m so glad to see that Freida is back after that crash of The Crash.. I flew through this one and loved it! A twisty, humorous, easy read like the Freida I know and love.
