panI picked up this book because it was by the author of The Book Thief. I'm not sure why I finished it as it seemed disjointed. I did feel some empathy for the character Cam, but I was never sure of the point of the story. After reading it, I realized it was the third book of a series in the Wolfe Brothers. Perhaps I'd have understood it better had I read the previous two books. Definitely don't recommend it as a standalone novel.

I am apprehensive to read a Zusak book after The Book Thief. While I own a copy of this one, haven‘t mustered up the courage to read it yet.
