A middle grade Scholastic book about a girl who discovers she has ADHD + how she navigates the challenges it presents. Loved the opening chapters and the way in which the reader experiences her struggles. In the after note the author acknowledges the condensed storyline and while I understand her writing choices, it definitely made sections of the storyline oversimplified. Still, it‘s nice to see the protagonist navigate ADHD in positive ways.

What a time for middle grade books & their readers. This one is about a seventh grader named Clea who can‘t seem to do anything right—she bumps into things, blurts stuff out, forgets to do homework, & generally can‘t focus. There‘s a reason for all of that—she has ADHD. While the story can occasionally be a little heavy-handed in teaching about ADHD, it is nonetheless an engaging read & sensitive portrayal of a neurodiverse character. Recommended.
