Author worked with a photographer to drive the story. Each time photos were delivered, Levithan would pen a few more chapters. Author didn't know which pictures were coming or when; photographer did not read the story until completed.

Loved this in high school but haven't read it since. Recently nabbed it from a book sale and am hoping to reread it. Until then, I'll go with my original review: David Levithan is an amazing YA author and this novel is as unique as it is wonderful!

readem_andweep @heatherlove123 This is not about bipolar disorder. I've actually not read any books about that but I looked it up and here are 3 that I came across for teens: "A Tragic Kind of Wonderful" by Eric Lindstrom, "When We Called" by Emery Lord, and "Crazy" by Amy Reed. I'm sure there are many other there!!8 believe Goodreads might have a list of them. Hope this helps! 8y
