Pickpick

Still very happy to read Paul Auster. Beautifully written again. Even if it is difficult for me to think that someone can leave his own kid behind as Nash does, I was able to let me convince by Auster‘s writing that such a character can exist. From that starting point I was completely into the story. Starting Leviathan now.

(Day 1 - #HighwayToHell)

*and why not Paul Auster‘s highway to hell, in the tagged book...which was made into a film in 1993, starring James Spader & Mandy Patinkin. and doesn‘t Paul Auster love to feature that particularly great American pastime—driving (all across America), because it‘s a big country, isn‘t it...?

Cinfhen Haven‘t seen the film or read the book but I‘m intrigued in both!!! I like James Spader 6y
RohitSawant Wasn't aware of it either until now. This sounds fascinating! 6y
Billypar Either didn't know or forgot this was made into a film. And what great leads! I read it a long time ago, but remember enjoying it. 6y
rretzler Also a James Spader fan. I‘m rewatching Boston Legal currently 6y
gradcat @Cinfhen @rohit-sawant @Billypar @rretzler Great Book, not so great film, but hey—if you like Spader, you might get into it. I, too, loved “Boston Legal!†Thanks for commenting, guys! 🥰 6y

Jim Nashe leaves everything behind when he inherits a lot of money. He drives through the country and enjoys this freedom until he runs almost out of money. Then he meets Pozzi, a hitchhiking poker player. Pozzi offers him a chance to make some money. They go and poker with two eccentric men. Then it becomes a real Auster-story, with all kinds of strange details and unrealistic situations.
It ended as it should! #1001books
