7 posts | 3 read
Heartfelt and touching book by 1st graders at Masterson Elementary School in Kennet, Missouri, about the day after the tragic events of September 11th. These students were given a commemorative Sept On September 11th horrific events occurred, yet through the simple text and vibrant art of first graders, we are reminded that the world continued the next day. On each page, children experience the comforts of ordinary routines, such as their teacher reading books to them, having homework and recess, and knowing that 2 + 2 still equals 4. This is a poignant message of hope that reassures us all that even after bad things happen, tomorrow always brings a new day.

I have been in a reading rut for a while now. School started and I'll start reading to the kids and that should help. But I'm not getting my Litsy notifications. So my motivation to read and review is also tanking. I'm trying out using Instagram and threads, but I'm just not satisfied. I need inspiration!

This book is excellent for teaching the smallest about 911

This book was given the Commemorative Award and was written by the Masterson Elementary 1st graders of Kennet, Missouri. For the book to be written by kids, I thought it was wonderful. Illustrations were great and the story line was well though out and intriguing for kids.It reminds kids that everything will be okay and tomorrow brings a new day.

It brings a different perspective to how kids would describe the day to come after our 9/11 tragedy. The innocence kids holds shows great depths throughout the story.
