But her husband's infidelity has left her in a place full of mistrust and fear. Her dreaded curiosity about Margaux's death has become very personal. Two women are about to converge on a trail of blackmail, secrets, troubled pasts, and hidden shadows, where violence and desire entwine, unchecked. Mehso-so

I read and enjoyed an earlier novel of Reeds‘ a few years ago and I love to support local authors so I listened to this #KindleUnlimited read. It‘s a darker story than I expected- with a web of dark secrets and violent sex at its heart. The twists aren‘t unexpected and some of the characters aren‘t always plausible, but it kept my attention. And while I wouldn‘t call the town housing my local Costco rural, I appreciated the setting overall.
