This book is a mess! It has little to do with the publishers' description of it. Sallis attempts to weave together 5-6 storylines, neither fleshing out nor resolving any of them. There is also an eye-rollingly unrealistic depiction of a doctor. Ug. The only worthwhile part is the relationship between Lamar and his partner Richard, which is lovely. Unfortunately my verdict is to skip it.
