Henrietta Lightfoot follows her paramour to Revolutionary France and gets mixed up with the Duc d'Orleans. Too slow-paced and too introspective for my taste - the revolution largely seems secondary and I had lost interest by the time of the climactic scene.

Tonight is clearly the night for decisive action on the tbr. This is the next to go. I like Rubenhold‘s non-fiction but this novel didn‘t grab me, probably because I‘ve done enough French Revolution novels over the years and I think I‘ve had enough. Unless they‘re Pink Carnation books...
