pickI love this enthralling, amazing and completely bonkers book. Every twist and turn of the plot were completely surprising.
Perhaps the characters, the Devil and his entourage set in 1930s USSR represents a scream by Bulgakov on behalf of the authors and poets whose creativity was suffocated and suppressed. Needless to say this satire/fantasy was only available underground in the USSR for decades.
Did I mention I loved it?
