I am enjoying this very much. There are so many interesting characters between the hostages and hostage takers. And now a case of unspoken love between incredibly shy people. An engaging read. I am hoping for a sizzling ending.

SamAnne Loved this book. Perhaps my favorite Ann Patchett, although I loved State of Wonder. I heard Bel Canto is being made into a movie? 1mo
StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego Stick with it, the ending makes it. 1mo
MayJasper I don't know about the film @SamAnne this is my first Ann Patchett. I will definitely give State of Wonder a go. Thanks 1mo

I loved it. I am pleased I loved it as he is one of my favourite authors. I haven't found a book of his that I haven't loved.
This one is set in the USA in 1959 cold war era. A story of love in a time and places of danger for the protagonists.
I am so sad to have finished it.

One of the most dangerous drugs available to trolls, crystal slam is first mentioned in Snuff. It looks like stone dust, but appears to have little red and blue flecks in it when held to the light.
