It may feel like a lifetime ago, but soaps were a BIG deal. Growing up, I was fascinated. That‘s why it‘s perfect I found this book. This is the story of a girl, unsure what to do with her life. She decides to kill time as a soap extra. It reminded me of Soapdish. It both pokes fun and pays compliment. The only other book that did this was a teen soap series, All That Glitters. I enjoyed this so much I‘d want to check out the rest of the series!
Traci1 I spent the summers when I was a kid with at my grandparents' house, and my great grandma lived with them. I have fond memories of climbing in bed with her to watch Days of Our Lives every afternoon. She died 35 years ago (I was 10), but i can still remember our conversations about favorite characters and storylines. I'm gonna look this one up. 4y
Sace How meta is this... I'm scrolling through Litsy while watching General Hospital 😂 4y
Purrfectpages @Traci1 I get that. I watched Days a lot with my grandmother too. I come from a family of soap lovers! 4y

Purrfectpages @Sace isn‘t it freaky when that happens? 4y
MallenNC I grew up watching soaps with my babysitter, and have watched General Hospital off and on ever since. I‘m back to watching it now because it‘s entertaining and distracting during this pandemic! @sace 4y
Purrfectpages @MallenNC @Sace GH always was so popular! I mostly watched the underdog soaps- Guiding Light, Another World and Days. 4y
MallenNC @Purrfectpages My babysitter only watched ABC shows, so that‘s what I knew to watch. I did watch Days in college bc my roommate liked it. 4y
Sace @Purrfectpages oh I watched GL and ATWT back in the 80s! I didn't start watching GH until last year. 4y
Purrfectpages @Sace yes! GL in the 80s was the best! I dabbled in ATWT for a brief time. 4y
