Some reviews said this was too long and writing was slow at times, but I didn‘t find that to be an issue (since I was listening to the audiobook). I was more interested in the beginnings of reality programming such as radio shows, early game shows and into the 70s. The history of shows from the 90s and 2000s was ok, but not as interesting to me.
I loved this book. Every little bit of it is my catnip: Poor girl, rich boy, jealous rival, sick family member. I read this in a day.

I didn‘t get it read for the May #authoramonth, but the important thing is that I got it read. The satire was so good and absolutely on point.
I have another of Percival Everett‘s books on my kindle (Erasure) that I want to read as well.
@Soubhiville thanks so much for leading this. It has gotten me to actually read so many of my books that I‘ve let linger on my shelves and on my kindle.
Listening to rain and trying to catch up with #authoramonth reading. Tagged book was the May author. It‘s a pretty fast read so maybe I can squeeze in the June author too.
@Soubhiville
This has been on my radar forever. I had an audible credit so I decided to go the audiobook route. So far I really like it. I like the narrator and the author has done a good job of describing the evolution of reality television.
Added bonus- I can use it for the #letterC in the #LitsyAtoZ challenge. @Texreader

I really like the characters despite their flaws. Can‘t wait for book 3.
I enjoyed the narrator for the #audiobook. Decent story. Good pacing. Good characters. I‘m not sure about all the books in the series, but this could be read as a standalone.
I‘m quite late, but I‘ll pretend I‘m not. Drinking water, lounging in PJs and enjoying this book.

This is on the summer reading list for the Juniors taking AP English Language at the school where I teach. Like all collections of essays some are stronger than others, but overall I enjoyed this book.
A pick. Pretty straightforward and not too complicated. There was the mystery of the pickpockets and the lost prince, but they overlapped so I didn‘t mind. I‘d like to know the point of the car crashing into Mr Faber‘s shop though. Ned seemed cranky and pouty early in the book. He seemed petulant and selfish which isn‘t his usual demeanor. I wasn‘t crazy about it.
I‘m spending the day with Nancy and Salem. I couldn‘t decide which picture to use so I just used both 😂.

I‘m sure this is one that was recommended in my early Litsy days. The narrator was good, but the story was heartbreaking.
I‘m not in a slump, but I‘m not reading as much as usual. I‘m not going to slow down on the #EBBR though! I‘ve got my journal page ready.
@Ruthiella
I‘m impulsively giving this #audiobook a try. Maybe I heard about this author here? Anyhoodle…ironically I tend to read less during my summer vacation (which starts next Friday). Maybe this year I will break that trend. I‘m lurking. I‘m not really posting reviews. Just existing..but like bad just existing, more like enjoying some mental quiet and silence and not really needing to post here or anywhere.
1. Teacher Appreciation week brought me joy (and a tummy ache. I overindulged in treats)
2. I discovered that a lantana plant and a hosta that I thought had died are sprouting again.
3. Encyclopedia Brown for #EBBR. I‘ve made a habit of reading EB on the first day of every month.
4. Snuggly cats
5. Rain

A tag for everyone!
I flew through the first 175ish pages but it feels like the pace has come to a screeching halt. I don‘t know if it‘s the book or my attention span.
A bonus nomination for #CampLitsy25. Not sure if it‘s literary enough, but I can never resist a story with a cat. Thanks for the nudge @Ruthiella

I did find some books to nominate.

I changed my mind. I ended up kind of liking this. Maybe not my favorite, but not as annoying as some I‘ve read. The two mysteries actually ended up being connected so having multiple cases didn‘t bother me.
I hope someone read the earlier version. I want to know how they compare and if the bits about pirates and devastating hurricanes in my version were really just from the original.
Please just stick to one, Nancy.

Not sure if it‘s me or the book but I don‘t feel that into the Space Center. Even the exploding oranges leave me meh. At least I have a snuggle buddy. #catsoflitsy

1. I think I would consider myself a bibliophile. I may not read as quickly or as much as other bibliophiles but I love the act of reading and my house is overflowing with books.
2. Francie Nolan is my favorite bibliophile.

I started this series on audio but couldn‘t take the narrators. This first book leads right into the second so I bought it on kindle and enjoyed the writing much more (plus it made skipping the sexy time easier…call me a prude).
Fast paced, great characters, good story. Good escape reading.
This husband and wife team is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. One series had space chickens, and now this one has a ferret heist.
1. It‘s Friday!
2. Picking up my holds from the library.
3. Tacos for dinner.
4. My husband.
5. Not having anything to do this weekend so I can read.

Aaaaand DONE! I really enjoyed this one. It‘s been on my shelf forever. I‘m glad #authoramonth prompted me to finally read it.
Alex Stern is a great character and the premise was really interesting. It took me a minute to get into the format and timelines but it was worth it. I added the second book to my BOTM. Offspring was thrilled that I liked it. She read a while ago and can‘t find anyone who liked it 🤣.
@Soubhiville
I have my reading journal page ready for April #EBBR!
