I‘m trying not to use Amazon as much, but I had some kindle credits that were expiring so I decided to get this in preparation for 2025 #authoramonth.

I‘m in bed with a stack of books. This doesn‘t include kindle or nook or other books I‘ve started but haven‘t quite decided on.

A nice ending to a delightfully escapist reading series.
#5JoysFriday (a day late) @DebinHawaii
1. Litsy has a permanent place on my list of joys.
2 and 3 While I shouldn‘t be buying more books, Pango and ThriftBooks = spending a little less and not using Amazon as much.
4 and 5 Sunshine and nice temperatures mean sitting outside and reading.

@Rissreads posted the book and @Aims42 mentioned Pango. I decided to take both of their advice 😂
I‘ve never ordered from Pango books before. Usually I go with ThriftBooks. I guess there‘s nothing wrong with having more options.
#Two4Tuesday Thanks for the tag @TheSpineView !
1. Spots! (See tagged book)
2. I‘m currently reading Rich People Problems. I‘m trying to use the library more.

Excellent read. A bit of Jewish philosophy. A bit of Jewish History. Modern quasi suspense. A family story. A lot going on but well written. I couldn‘t stop reading.
“Surely one of the chief differences between the veteran teacher and the recruit must be that the experienced can never find enough time, whereas the ingénue struggles to fill the hours, looks forward to dismissal time as a reprieve.”
Oh it can happen to us veterans too!

1. At least there is no doubt and there won‘t be any violence. 🤞
2. Litsy is an oasis.
3. Books are an oasis (if I avoid serious topics )
4. Cats are snuggly.
5. My husband brought home Chik-fil-a on Wednesday.

I finished this last week. Definitely a pick. Very fluffy. Perfect escape reading. Moving on to the third book as soon as my hold comes in.

2. Philosophical, parallel and engrossing.

I will be reading for the foreseeable future. I am a public high school teacher. Please explain to me how I am supposed to teach teenagers to respect others, be kind and do what‘s right.
Starting this today for one of the November discussions on The Big Read. I need to be careful. I‘ve started a lot of books lately!
Thanks for the tag @KadaGul
I‘ve mainly been focused on A Guide For The Perplexed, but I‘ve dipped into Christy here and there as well.
I‘ll tag @BarkingMadRead @Gissy and @Augustdana

A pick for me. I appreciate the author reading the research so I don‘t have to. He may not have been super objective but honestly I don‘t mind. I wasn‘t looking for scientific objectivity. In this book and his book Lost Connections he talks a lot about collective energy and human connection. We aren‘t all scientists and researchers. Some of us need the anectdata to get our thoughts rolling. I‘m glad this book crossed my path via @AvidReader25
Number 12 on my #BookSpin list is BOTM backlog. This book has popped up in different online places for me this week so I think this the obvious choice. Salem approves.

1. Since we had to get a new car I have inherited the yellow VW Bug. I‘ve named her Betty Banana and I love driving her.
2. My cats always bring me joy.
3. I‘m out of my reading slump. October was a good reading month. Also, there‘s a huge used book sale and the main branch of the local library tomorrow!
4. Halloween!
5. My audiobook
Wanna play? @LeslieO @KadaGul @JenlovesJT47
I‘m not going to finish anything today so I think it‘s safe to go ahead and share my October stats. Spooky season really boosted my reading!
Here‘s my copy!

1. No. I‘m a party pooper 😂 I have a colleague that goes all out every year though.
2. Carrie by Stephen King. My husband is a fan of Dean Koontz.
@Librarybelle @Gissy @Suet624 @willaful @KateReadsYA @Aims42 @Clare-Dragonfly @AvidReader25 play?

It‘s been a while since I‘ve made a list but I‘m in for November!
Spooky season reading got me out of my slump. I hope I can continue my reading streak for the rest of the year.
#SundayFunday @BookmarkTavern
Absolutely! In fact, it got me out of my reading slump this year. I‘m thinking of extending my spooky reads through November. Next year I won‘t wait until October. I‘m going to start is September!

This is the third book of this series. This book is fine but I think the first two are the stronger stories.

1. My husband and I had good Mexican food last night.
2. I took a personal day today and caught up on some sleep.
3. I showed Coco in class this week and students did a good job discussing it in Spanish and I think they really enjoyed it.
4. Our 20 year old Camry needed to be replaced. We donated her to vehicles for veterans. We are the proud new owners of a Honda CR-V.
5. Delicious hamburgers for lunch.
$0.99 on kindle today. A colleague told me about this months ago, but I never got around to getting a copy. I fixed that today.

I haven‘t read a lot of Stephen King, but of the books I have read this one is my favorite. I think this is the third time I‘ve read it.
Gigi didn‘t appreciate being bothered.

Well my books finally came in. It was around 5:30PM and I was already in my pajamas (jammie time comes early in my house). I didn‘t feel like getting dressed to walk across the street to the mail box so my participation in the #GNreadathon is limited to today only.
I like that these two books are color coordinated.
Edit: this is a #blameitonlitsy book haul 😂
@AvidReader25 posted a review of this one months ago. I think it‘s time for me to dive in.

I tend to enjoy the beginning of true crime books because it deals with the life and history of the players and sets up the context of the crime. I invariably lose interest when the investigation narrative starts. The same was true for this book as well.
Started this one last night. I forgot how much I like this book.

Is it sad that this is the exact same image I shared a couple of weeks ago? My husband and I are definitely creatures of habit. So the same things are bringing me joy.

My daughter and I are wanting to do a reading retreat in June 2025. We are thinking 2 nights in Nashville (the halfway point between the two of us). We are thinking of staying near Parnassus books. I would welcome any advice, tips whatever.

I‘ll be spending the #hyggehourreadathon with Nancy Drew, China Rich Girlfriend and my audiobook. I‘m starting a little early and I‘ll probably read for more than an hour. I‘m just drinking water. Feeling relaxed and grateful for the day off tomorrow.

Bob Snell, Ben Wooster…I swear I‘ve seen these names in Nancy Drew before. 😂 Ok. Maybe not really but I do find the surnames in Nancy Drew books interesting.

A cute cozy. I enjoyed it but not enough to keep going with the series.
There were a few words from the #HauntedShelf #WordSearch but alas it would be difficult to log those since it was an audiobook.
Question for @PuddleJumper and @Jadams89 -I am keeping track of my points on the Google sheet but not really in these posts. Should I also be keeping up in the posts? I‘m just finding it easier to go back every few days to track points.
