This book was written to start conversations about Black America, and how to propel the Black community forward - each chapter even came with questions for the reader to mull over. While I could tell black people would benefit the most from this book, I‘m happy I took the time to read it. I want to be the best ally I can be, and this book helped by exposing me to beliefs, customs, and thought processes I never knew.

I won‘t every fully understand the emotions that our black brothers and sisters are going through (now and on a day-to-day basis), but I will always stand with them. I picked up this book to get a better understanding of their viewpoints, and I‘m taking it all in. Of course this book won‘t mention the most recent events, but it did come out this January, so it‘s fairly up to date.
