There‘s this booktuber that goes by the name of ComfyCozyUp and she is always singing the praises of unknown and unsung, indie, black authors. I read this book because of her and I‘m so glad I did. We follow Keon, a son who lives with the horrible legacy of a name his father left him, and Yana, the daughter of a preacher. This is a love story, this is bittersweet, this is a black community story, its successes and hardships. The writing is no 👇🏼
Reggie frills but goddamn if I‘m not here crying like a baby at the end. This is a Toni Morrison story of community with the dial of time moved up to the eighties. It was so good. 😭 5y

YaYa_Reads The cover had me at hello but seeing that my name is Yana and I am also a daughter of a preacher, leads me to believe that I will somehow be able to relate. Stacked! 😁 5y

Reggie @YaYa_Reads He has a lot to say about the church and the church life. It reminded me a little of The Mothers by Brit Bennet. I hope you like it if you pick it up! 5y
