Finished The Rose Field and really enjoyed it - lots of unanswered questions for me though. At least another 3 books worth.
Read 59 minutes like this 😱 anxiety inducing.
Just started Season. A football related book, in a footie mad household it has become apparent there are no footie related bookmarks. What a travesty. Having to use one which says overthrow the government 😉

Started the week off with the chunkster from Joe Hill- loved it ♥️
Little departure via a murder mystery in Liverpool which I enjoyed. Set in the 1970s when you were still putting 2p‘s in public phones!
Onto the next chunkster with The Rose Field! About 100 pages in and just remembering all the characters and back story.

Thank you Cathy 😘 I haven‘t read this and it looks fabulous! Just my thing- much appreciated.

Thirty years after reading the first, the last one. Going in….last ones are scary, what if I don‘t like it, what if I don‘t like the ending 🤞🏻 🤞🏻

I loved it. Everything I look for in horror/fantasy big books.
It‘s great bookmark matching 😁

This anniversary set is just gorgeous ♥️

Birthday books 😁
Thank you Caroline and Barbara - look forward to getting to these! Very kind gifts 😘

Thank you to all who‘ve wished me happy birthday - very kind!
Thanks to Michele and Helen for previous book gifts pre- Gladstone‘s!
Thanks for cards Helen & Jenny.
Thank you Carolyn, Kate and Emma for gifts 😘
Barbara- they tried to deliver yours yesterday but we weren‘t home- will deliver tomorrow!
A lovely day ♥️ fizz to come 🥂🥂

Can‘t wait until work doesn‘t get in the way of reading!
Finished Culpability and enjoyed the moral dilemma discussions about AI. Still hate it though…
Read Poyums after reading an interview with the poet in The Guardian. Fine set of poems.
300 pages into King Sorrow and loving it.

#bookreport
Falling behind with these!
Loved The Narrows
Post Gladstone‘s influence for Slanting to the Sea (Helen and Barbara!) - enjoyed this one 😁
Two Nights- my daughter went to Lisbon and brought me a book mark with Lisbon on, so I had to read a book set in Lisbon. An ok thriller.
Currently reading Culpability- more post Gladstone‘s influence!

Absolutely loved this. Yes, it was like Salems Lot fan fiction- but worked for me.
I am enjoying going through this authors back catalogue.
Emma- this one‘s another good ‘un.

Not sure what‘s going to happen to my bookshelves if I have to buy a 50th anniversary copy of all the books…

On that downer of return from Gladstone‘s and fitting the reading back into normal life!
Finished Mothers and Sons at Gladstone‘s and Sugartown mainly on the way home, enjoyed.
Loved No Body No Crime.
Currently reading the new Matilda Darke.

A great debut. Look forward to more from this author. Young Irish woman grappling with depression and a less than wonderful childhood.

A lovely quiet novel about life, family secrets and learning to love yourself.

Another fun outing with The Thursday Murder Club 😁

Great story about friendship and life.

The fire is on ❤️

Good inter generational US family saga 👍🏻 Enjoyed my first Gladstone‘s read.

Not getting much reading done at the moment as life is a bit busy blowing me off track!
Anyway, finished this yesterday and loved it. Wish I‘d have been in the position to visit Silver Moon when it was open.
Used one of my Boudicca bookmarks as these women were modern day warriors!

💔 heart wrenching. We‘ve come so far since the 80s, let‘s not go back. My heart ached reading this.

I had 2 days off work and read 3 of these!
Knife in the Back- enjoyed, usual high tempo thriller from Rose
What Happens- good thriller
Seascraper- loved, and that cover ♥️
Pah- ok 🤷♀️
Third Degree- ok action thriller
As You Were- reading now and loving it.

Have only just seen this morning 😢
RIP, love his books.

A crime splurge at the moment. Usually means work is v busy…

Day off Friday 😁
Had hair done, having lunch, Waterstones next, footie later.
And my daughter got My Chemical Romance tickets for next year for us.
Got to have a good day occasionally!
The book is great too.

Work has been bonkers this week, little time or energy for reading!
Enjoyed The Pretender
Loved The Parallel Path
Not long started Nightshade.

What The Salt Path tried to be. But true and wonderfully written. I don‘t really like memoirs, but love this author‘s fiction books and followed this story on her Facebook.
Her introspection and ability to look at herself through several lenses whilst going through some tough shit is inspirational. There are some sad bits and I did shed a tear. Well recommended.

I don‘t usually like books about the Tudors or books that say they‘re witty. But hey-ho I loved this 🤷♀️ Not a series historical novel (some modern language and a lot of licence with the storytelling). But a good story, a great MC and it was very funny.

I loved this.
Dysfunctional Irish family. Beautifully written, sad.

Finished Sunstruck and although I have minor niggles with it, a great debut and would read more by the author.
Chapter One- well written psychological thriller. I did guess what was going on half way through.
Let me Go Mad in my Own Way- wonderful dysfunctional Irish family read. The horse is important on the cover.
Just started The Pretender.

#bookreport
Into the Fire wasn‘t my fave in the series so far.
Loved So Long, See You Tomorrow
Tilt and King of Ashes for #camplitsy
Currently reading Sunstruck.

Truth.

Usual all action, full on read with Helen Grace! There was one very unrealistic bit for me. Won‘t say what as it ruins a plot line.

#bookreport
The Missing was ok, a stand alone and definitely not as good as the Maeve Kerrigan series.
The Children of Eve- still an absolutely brilliant series.
Mrs Spy - ok 🤷♀️
Currently reading Into the Fire.

Current reading situation 😁

What a wonderful read. Very cleverly done. Full of sadness and society‘s nastiness, but also hope, friendship and love.
A great read ♥️

Enjoyed Woodworking 👍🏻
Thoroughly entertained by We Are All Guilty Here
Absolutely loved Ordinary Saints
Enjoying The Cassandra Section which has been my train read the last couple of days.
Been to 2 gigs the last couple of days and absolutely feeling every second of my age today.

This is amazing - an absolutely brilliant debut novel.
Funny, sad but overall real and life affirming. (I don‘t say those words often!).
Definitely one of my faves of the year so far.

Fabulous Sunday read! If you already love Slaughter, then this is classic Slaughter with all the gore, horrible stuff and twists and turns.
Couldn‘t put it down.

#bookreport
Work was a week….
Loved The Poppy War and will continue the trilogy.
Loved Come With Me- becoming a must read author.
Enjoying Woodworking at the moment.

#quicklunchtimeread
On campus, escaping the office because everyone is doing my head in!

Loved this - creepy murder mystery with a lump of supernatural - great writing. Read 3 of his now and loved them all.

#bookreport
Busy work week, slow reading week.
Loved Death of the Author ♥️
When You Are Mine was just meh. I‘ve loved his other series but this was a bit all over the place.
Late to The Poppy War party but loving it.

#bookreport
Finished Never Flinch and it‘s not my favourite King.
Ripeness was brilliant and maybe my favourite Moss.
Read 2 in the T.M.Payne series- enjoying this series a lot but am up to date now.
Started Death of the Author and enjoying a lot so far.

This is cheesey, time travelling fun at its best.
Robyn travels back to Wars of the Roses time.
