I wanted to like this book more than I did. However, I could not get past the way Hadley talked - there were way to many aint‘s and don‘t gottas for me. Otherwise, I loved the premise of Hadley, a young girl who is going through some very difficult childhood trauma, working with a depressed shelter dog and figuring some things out about herself along the way.

This was a really great book! It was somewhat painful to read at times, but so wonderful.

In the throes of trying to save herself and her friendships, Hadley teams up with an unlikely partner—a lost dog who needs love and salvation as well. MG
