The Art of Living Other People's Lives
The Art of Living Other People's Lives: Stories, Confessions, and Memorable Mistakes | Greg Dybec
4 posts | 1 read | 21 to read
Elite Daily managing editor Greg Dybec worries about rent, sex, love, family, andthe most millennial topic of them alla desire to leave a legacy. In The Art of Living Other Peoples Lives, Greg delivers a funny, brash, and insightful collection of twenty never-before-published stories on becoming a pick-up artist to get over an ex-girlfriend, late-night adventures with his Uber driver, having a Twitter-induced panic attack, picking up a gig writing about mens underwear, and more. Gregs writing is all at once candid, honest, and unapologetic, and his hilariously neurotic and self-analytical journey will strike a chord with anyone struggling to balance their IRL selves with their virtual ones.

#TBRtemptation post! This book could be labeled as memoir or humor. Dybec--editor of Elite Daily, read by millions of people--relates episodes of: writing about men's underwear; eavesdropping for story ideas; becoming a pick-up artist; learning tech from his mom; asking Mark Cuban for advice; adventuring with Uber drivers; and more. Most importantly, he discusses balancing online with the real-world. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎

Mehso-so

Strong beginning & strong ending, but for whatever reason, the anecdotes in the middle were not exciting & the humor felt forced (compared to the others). Some of these stories made me roll my eyes, rather disinterested. And some I could relate to & made me actually laugh out loud. It was a weird mix. 🤔 Overall, certain parts were entertaining & I enjoyed the light-hearted tone throughout, but I think, going into it, I was expecting a bit more.

This is so me 😂 Even when I go to London (which is often, so you'd think I'd be used to it by now) I don't want to speak, afraid that my American accent will incite immediate judgement. Irrational, I know, but it's hard for me not to think that way!
