Anna Katerina still remains my favorite Tolstoy novel. This was a slow read, even for just over a hundred pages it was difficult to pick back up. The very ending of the book was my favorite part as it was finally over.

The tale of Hadji Murat is true to a certain point because it's mentioned that he transcribed letters and conversations but it's also mentioned that he took liberties so how much is true and how much is fiction I don't know. The story was interesting if a big bogged down by getting in all the dates and times in the right place.
