6th in the series. A lot happening in the personal lives and in the plot! I did guess the killer at about 50% because there was so much pointing to someone else. But still enjoyed the story.
Look forward to the next one.

#12Booksof2020 #Day7

This was book 6 in The DCI Matilda Darke Series, which I read and reviewed for NetGalley. Not read the others but loved this one, great plot, greet characters and plenty of suspense at the end of the book. Want to read the others in 2021, recommended.

I loved this book, not read the rest in the series but this was a #NetGalley book for a review. This book had me hooked from the very first page and loved the very feel of it! Some great characters, good plotting, suspense, tension, action, it really had the lot. I will now be going back to reading the other books in the series (this is book 6). Still sone great treasures out there. Previously had not heard of this series or author. Recommended.

#netgalleyreviewathon Why have I not heard of Mathilda Darke before? Beats me! I didn‘t know this was the 6th book in the series, and it made me think I might be able to fully enjoy this book. I was wrong, I really did enjoy this book! It‘s an intriguing story of a girl disappearing, and the parents getting a ransom demand they simply can‘t fulfill. ->

Tove_Reads Mathilda‘s painful past includes a kidnapping she screwed up solving, and the boy and his faith has been haunting her ever since. A boy in France walk into a police station claiming he‘s the boy who‘s been missing. Mathilda is up for a lot of work, and barely no sleep. She can‘t have two missing children on her conscious. -> 4y
Tove_Reads Strong female lead, and interesting characters in general. I like Mathilda! The story is a solid, good mystery, but somewhere around the middle of the book I felt like it wasn‘t moving forward. A lot of things were happening, but the main plot stood still. It was a bit out of balance since the kidnappings were not the main story anymore; the focus was on the weird family of the missing girl, and the lives of the coppers. -> 4y
Tove_Reads Don‘t get me wrong, these things are important, but I felt it wasn‘t focused enough. Then it got back on track again, which is good.

I will most definitely look for the five previous books in the series, since this book is well-written, the characters exactly like I want detectives to be in a mystery book, and all in all it‘s great entertainment, even though the subject is not an easy one.

I received a free copy through #NetGalley.
