Mehso-so

Overall feeling: meh. Based on the title & description, I was hoping for something a little more action-packed, like Ulla uncovering a lost city early on & venturing there to discover who she is & her apparent connection to this Elaina.

Instead, it's 89% Ulla's day-to-day work life, 5% "who is Elaina?," & 5% buildup to weak climax, & 1% of who Ulla is. And no lost city ?

Hoping earlier books in #trylle world will be better.

I've been a book nerd for years now and yet this was the first time I actually got a book as a present (I've gotten books I've asked for before, but that was years ago). Pretty sure my non-bookish brother picked a book at random, and yet it was one that has been on my TBR 😂 Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, enjoy the day off, etc..

monkeygirlsmama I need to go back and reread the original Trylle books and then pick up this one. I loved the originals back when they first came out.

Enjoy!! And what a stunning cover too.
