I chose to read this because I thought there would be farming or gardening, but the MC Gerrit actually sells his farm and completely retires in the very first chapter. Most of the story deals with how he‘d always put the farm and his cows ahead of his family, and the severe damage this caused to every one of his relationships. A good story. I appreciate that Gerrit worked hard to completely change his priorities so he could salvage relationships.

Stellar debut! Highly recommend!

JenGalaxy4 Awesome characters? Check!
Moving, thoughtful, heartfelt and emotional story? Check!
A riled-up rooster and a precious little corgi? Check!

I laughed out loud so many times during the book's lighthearted moments. But, seriously, have some tissues nearby for the heartbreaking ones, because - wow.
