A believable peek into early 20th century country life, this MG novel‘s narrator is 9 yo Katy who wants to become a doctor like her father. She accompanies her dad on his home visits and thus meets the silent 13 yo Jacob whose world is inside his head

I know this is way below my reading level, but the conflict, climax, and resolution all took place in the last 20 pages of the book and the rest was just filler.
