It‘s been so hard for me to focus on anything lately but this book helped with a quick pick me up. Usually during Halloween I spend all my time celebrating with knotts or Halloween horror nights, and I often forget to read!

This book was a TOTAL pick. This is a YA horror, and it actually covered pretty serious topics for a YA. Including grief, and the spectacle Hollywood is obsessed with making of raw emotion. The ghost Is also TERRIFYING. It‘s a Blair witch x haunting of hill house vibe, and I dig the idea of a cult movie following turning against the person who made their favorite art. It‘s a real ghost story, metaphorical and not - with a really great mc.
October TBR 🖤🖤
I‘m basically cheating cause I read scary books all year not just in October - but I‘m doing it anyway 🤪
Most of these are paperback arcs, but I bought grove hollow because IM SO EXCITED FOR IT. October is really gonna be the best month for reading
I liked this book, but I really wanted to love it.
The level of worldbuilding is so disheartening, it adds so many cool ideas and words and creatures that it mentions, and just never ever explains. Many times sentence to sentence reading left me lost and confused, and I would just have to put the book back down.
Thank you to bookishfirst and the publisher for my ARC, I may not have enjoyed it so much - but I‘m sure a lot of others will.
My CR! In the tradition of keeping with #spookysummer - I‘m really hoping I like this one because I JUST got the acceptance right before it‘s archive. Josh Malerman is a author I love but he can be very hit or miss for me, and as a result I haven‘t read much of his work since Pearl. So I‘m hoping this is a turn around from the whiplash I have from Fourth Wing😐
latest review——★★★☆☆
Happy international cat day. This was a read that left me super conflicted, I still ended up liking it but it isn‘t entirely what it is marketed as. I grew up on creepypasta and really looked forward to this, but that characters that pushed the plot were just too weak at times.

☾all trigger warnings are in the official blog post! Link in bio because for some reason Litsy hates long posts 😭😭
My august tbr is outt ✦
I made the mistake of requesting too much physical and digital ARCs thinking because I JUST came back that I would not receive any - and I got basically all of them, so I have a HEFTY week of reading that I‘m somewhat scared for. Wish me luck
I loved this novel! It was surprisingly a romance which I DIDNT expect coming from a premise that is about so much tragedy. This book is about a woman named Lori recovering from a TBI after an accident that killed her son. And I cannot rave about it enough! It has very very good lessons in it I believe everyone can benefit from.

A week ago I finished this brilliant fun horror book by Christopher Hawkins! It helped to start off reading with such a great book. And I HAVE to recommend this to all horror fans.

In the recovery of Covid, a few family incidents, and a lot of surgeries after an accident. I‘m finally comfortable enough to get back into the community. One step at a time. I‘m slower than ever at reviews, responses, and reading. And for a while, it was hard for me to find a love for it again. But I really missed this community, and found a few books I found in surgery rehab. I hope all of you have been well. I hope to get back to reviews soon
A small painting inspired by John Muir‘s yosemite, nothing causes daydreams like that place. Sorry it‘s a lil off topic, but I often paint scenes from books so I figured this may be interesting to some

Bingo! #bookishbingo #bookishfirst
Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie for Used
After by Bruce Greyson for Begins with A
Memories by Lang Leav for Cursive
Suburban Hell by Maureen Kilmer for Made me Laugh
Me and @Dismal_Blues are doing a book spin together, love to see the random things she makes me read 😒😂
Such a fun read! I loved reading this book, it was such a taste of fresh air. A great book to calm down to, even if you don't like horror - you'll like the author's quick wit and usual change of scenery. Trigger warning for light gore, violence, and gaslighting. You can see my full review on my blog. #awesomeapril #readathon

Finally tackling this big boy. So excited, and a bit intimidated that it‘ll go right over my head #tbr #2022 #bigbook #chunksterchallenge
#tbr for the week, can‘t wait to finally get through these books, because I‘ve been so busy and putting off reading way too much. I really need to find a book club.😭
On another note my #litsylovesanimalsswap came! So excited, and thank you to @DinoMom and my match! 🖤
Book swap shipped @DinoMom @chasjjlee #LitsyLovesAnimals #Litsylovesanimalsswap
Doing an Interest check to see if anyone would be interested in a ‘spooky summer‘ or ‘hot witch summer‘ themed book swap? Themes and aesthetics largely focusing on ghoulish delights, creepy and crawlies, skulls, tarot, horror/thriller, etc. I jus want some creepy friends for summer 👄
When you finally finish your university class so you can post on Litsy again and read your hoard of books. 😭
So sorry I‘ve been inactive Litsy friends, I finally got my associates and have been dying to read and be active again!
Just picked this up about an hour ago on my flight back from Connecticut, a quick horror read I ended up really enjoying. I have to do a total review soon, even though I‘m 3 years late 😭 #horror #quickreads
The first #chunksterchallenge of the year, thanks to everyone who showed me these challenges!
I‘m excited and nostalgic to read this, as the last time I cracked it open was elementary school. It‘s not the biggest book I own, but it‘s step one of the year as I get back into disciplined reading
I am still confused on this book after re-reading it, there‘s parts I really like - but parts that make it near indigestible. Hugeeee warning for the level of graphic violence towards animals #horror
