Loved this middle grade story collection by a who‘s who of world class authors. With every story written by a Black man, this celebration of boyhood has an authentic, diverse, and exceptional perspective. Highly recommend! #ownvoices #middlegrade

I wanted to like this more. I wish inclusion could be more organic. While this book is about enjoying reading without trauma and that was accomplished, it would have been better if the some of the authors weren‘t so heavy handed with the social commentary.

I described this book to someone else as joy snacks. I usually linger over anthologies, and each story was so great I kept going for another.
