This book presents an interesting and comprehensive overview of the work of a lesser-known practioner of California Moderne, Edward Fickett. He designed homes, neighborhoods, and public buildings in Calif from the 40s-80s. The book is short on academic essays tying him to the giants of the movement (Neutra, Schindler, Wright) but strong in discussing the architectural/engineering solutions to design/construction. My engineering major son loved it!
