A strange & provocative work of non-fiction. It starts with the author searching for a hidden manuscript of the composer Bela Bartok, which lead to his involvement making a horror movie in the Arctic. Ruminations and meditations abound & the writing is sharp and sometimes jarring. Not for everyone, but there are pleasures to be found in this writer's struggle with art, family, & alcohol.
