In April, I didn‘t read any 5 star books, except for rereading 2 favorites. I‘m going with this fun YA debut written by my acquaintance. I‘m sending a copy to my friend‘s daughter—I told her I was getting her a YA romance with cooking, & her answer was “Yes, please!”. #12booksof2022 @Andrew65

Two interns at a food channel get teamed up to do a quick video, and when fans seems to like it they get asked to do more. Oh also are crushing on each other. And both want the fall internship. But being on screen is a little different when you're female. At one point Reese yells all the things at him that I pretty much have ever wanted female characters forced to compete against a dude in books to yell. Both the romance and the story were cute.

I‘m a little biased on this one since I know the author, but I think it‘s a fun debut novel. K-Hill (nickname) was a summer staff at my church camp at least one year, & there was a funny reference to camp in the book. Not a perfect rom-com, but I liked the characters, the puns, & the plot. This is more a ya romance since MCs are 18.
I went to her signing event & was excited that so many people attended. Most were friends & family.

I‘m so excited that this book is already listed on Litsy! Just wanted to suggest a book for this spring for the romance readers. I haven‘t seen KHill in several years, but she was a summer staff at my camp during college, & she‘s so much fun. I had no idea she wrote a book until I saw this on fb last night. Haven‘t read the book but definitely going to get a copy & support her. I‘m fortunate to have a camp family full of many amazing people.

This book was so sweet my teeth hurt. There was really no drama or any problems between Reese and Benny. The conflict took a back seat. It felt unrealistic but it was a cute fast paced romance. Benny felt slightly obsessed with Reese for there too be so little build up to their relationship. The social media drama was basically ignored as was the feminism aspect. It wasn‘t even friends to lovers. It was more coworkers to lovers.
