Emma, an ob-gyn nurse, watches her hospital struggling with a recent surge in stillbirths as political conspiracies start to be carefully whispered about. Her teenage daughter, Lainey, gets involved in protests after one of her friends goes missing after they suspect she was pregnant. Lainey has her own problems as bigger truths are uncovered. Exciting!
Trying to use the services I pay, my current audiobook is The Hush. It's part of Audible Plus so I can listen to it without using a credit. The first chapter was really intriguing. I'm really hoping it's good.

pickNot sure how I came to be reading this book 🤔. The writer is from the UK & lives in Western Australia. She is doing her PHD at the same uni my kids attend, 10 minutes down the road. She‘s written other bestsellers. Has anyone read them?
I really enjoyed this speculative fiction, full of female characters and with a YA, handmaid‘s tale vibe. I did have to suspend judgement at times, but it wasn‘t too hard. I happily went along for the ride 😁.
