I saw a clip of a podcast where they talked about a guy who crashes funerals to confess secrets and confront mourners on behalf of the deceased. Found this book, thought it would be a fun quirky read. Did not expect to be bulldozed with alternating chapters of his horrific childhood. I almost DNF'd as that was not what I wanted to read in that moment, and it was pretty brutal right out the gate. Guess I should have researched better.
