Pickpick

I‘m surprised more people haven‘t read this! Would love to discuss. Sometimes poetic, sometimes a bit much. (Print better than the audio? narration only ok.)

It‘s about sisters, their place in the family, what happens to the balance and understanding when tragedy hits. Who ARE you if you‘ve defined yourself in relation to another and that person is now gone?

This book was recommended to me as a second person point of view, which I need for a category of #AsheCoNCReadingChallenge2024
So far I haven‘t found evidence. And now I‘m also just really confused what the story is about. #ReadingTroubles

Pickpick

This ended up being a low pick for me. It starts out strong with an intense, emotional act that bonds two sisters together. Sadly, that intensity fizzles some and the story switches from past to present frequently, changing POVs, which made it hard to tell where exactly I was in the timeline of the story.

The last section though is as strong as the start exploring family relationships and grief. If you read this, don't give up in the middle. 😀

Megabooks Still on the fence about this. 3y
Addison_Reads @Megabooks I would #BorrowNotBuy if you decide to try. It took me 4 days to finish it, which is a long time for me and a book this size. I liked a lot of it, but that middle section was stale compared to the rest. 3y
