Mehso-so

I really enjoyed how this book was written. I didn't expect to like a book written in 2nd person so much. And I'm a sucker for love stories.

But, as someone with anorexia and who has been hospitalized several times for suicide ideation, I'm iffy with how these things were handled. All EDs are dangerous. Period. Everyone has a "monster" they are fighting. Psych wards are not "crazy houses." That just furthers the stigma of mental illness.

This is a story of a 16 year old girl with ARFID, Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. Sad Perfect is about disease, love, and recovery.

Some people might call Pea a picky eater, but she knows it‘s more than that, and it‘s getting worse. And now there‘s a monster raging inside of her, one that controls more than just her eating disorder. The monster is causing anxiety, depression, and dangerous thoughts.

[DELETED] 2232195534 So is that what was called anorexia? It's tough when they keep changing the names of illnesses. Ha! 8y
Dogearedcopy @kaysreadinglife No, AFRID used to be SED (Selective Eating Disorder) - when you don't eat whole categories or dub- categories of food because of the way they taste or smell or look or because it reminds you of something bad... Anorexia is basically starving yourself by not eating at all! 8y

[DELETED] 2232195534 @Dogearedcopy Thanks for the info. This sounds interesting. 8y
HiddenGemBooks @kaysreadinglife it's a sub-category, like a branch off of anorexia, but like @Dogearedcopy said, they are not at all the same thing. No worries though! It is sometimes confusing to keep track of mental illnesses. There is such a wide spectrum now, which has its perks, but also its faults 😕 8y
