A sad story in the end. If not the book, then the author. The story of a cancer survivor who decides to commemorate this by walking from Washington DC to New York City and write about the people he met and the places he saw. The book was published in 2023. the authors cancer relapsed and he died this year.

This had some interesting observations. One long scenario anout no one providing him water was particularly well done. Overall though after the first 8 chapters I grew bored. It seemed to fall into the socio- babble of every thing that‘s wrong in America can be fixed by having front porches. I love a deep porch, but…I am grateful though for the tip that the field in which Frederick Douglas fought for his freedom is still a field we can visit.

I really enjoyed this book. The author wrote this memoir about his 330 mile walk from Washington D.C. to New York City. He shared a lot of history about the places he walked as well as conversations had with those he crossed paths with. Very good book!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's well written and details the author's walk from Washington, D.C. to NYC, beginning in the Spring of 2021. It's more than just a walk though. . he includes historical details in a very readable style, social commentary and introspection. I would love to take a month and just walk. . . .
