pickThis is the author's memoir of childhood in France, of establishing herself in London as a young adult, with some travels to far-flung places. It's subtitled, "A French Woman's Adventures in London", with "Adventures" not really doing much lifting. While there's mentions of school bullying, experience of male sexism, discovering her sexuality, & mental health issues, all significant, but presented pretty low-key. Which I rather enjoyed! ? 4⭐
Bookwomble Not that I'm belittling any of those issues, as any one has the potential to be traumatic, but as Lucie presents her story, it's relatively trauma, and drama, free. She comes across as a sweet, nerdy, scatter-brained artist, going about her daily life, being generally happy. It's a crisis-free, feel-good vibe 😊 12mo
