This is a poorly done, clunky mystery in which the cops are clueless and fail to investigate obvious options, the red herrings are incredibly obvious and the main cop character has an odd quirk that verges on inappropriate. I definitely won‘t read this author again. Cool cover, though.

Whenever I write about a book where the character goes back home…I always have the same song go through my head….I‘m Coming Home by Skylar Grey. So, yeah, another book about coming back to your hometown with a murder thrown to spice things up. While I didn‘t love this one like the first Rita Myers book, it was still noteworthy. I love how this author adds some real emotion to her character's story it makes everything so much more relatable.

Mmm it was ok, it all played out pretty plainly in the end.
But nothing to get too excited over.

Pretty good suspense listen.

Her ballet career derailed by injury, a once-promising young dancer returns to her hometown only to face a grisly discovery – and the increasingly alarming realization that nothing from her past is quite what she believed – in this electrifyingly twisty suburban thriller for fans of Stacy Willingham, Greer Hendricks, and Megan Miranda.

Aardvark 📚 had some good picks this month - I‘m so excited for this box!! 📦

Esmé returns home 2 her small town 2 find her HS BFF has been murdered outside her yard in the woods. Det. Rita Myers is in charge of the case & struggles 2 find leads.
Told in dual POV, it allows us to gain insight that would have been missed w/only one POV. Even so, I still kept changing my mind on who I thought did it! I think everything unfolded perfectly, making it hard 2 know who 2 trust & keeping me turning the pages 2 find out the truth.
