Just listening to the author of this interviewed (in English) on History Hit. The book sounds fascinating - it's not in English (that I can find) so I might have to try and resurrect my long neglected French to read it! I used to be able to read books like this (certainly when I was doing my year in France at uni) so maybe I can get my skills back!
