Chet Baker was the James Dean of West Coast Jazz: cool looks and a bad-boy image. While in some respects this is thin fare, in others it is strong stuff. Is it all true? Is Chet (so often strung out) a reliable narrator of his own life? Does it matter, if this is his truth? I'm left wanting more, but this what Chet wanted to give, or could give, so I just have to be satisfied with that. More importantly, he left his music, and that's a fine legacy
Vikkiha I love his voice. That laid-back angst. (edited) 7y
Bookwomble @Vikkiha Delicate and soulful, and a perfect compliment to his trumpet playing. I love that despite being the main draw in his bands, Chet gave his fellow musicians plenty of space to show their skills, too. 7y
