The Shadow Of Shame
The Shadow Of Shame: What Many Feel But Few Heal | Russell Razzaque
1 post | 1 to read
In the light of our current global situation, many people feel shame. America is experiencing an epidemic of shame right now, as a consequence of the country's electoral results and consequent national actions that flow from it. Shame is something that many leaders themselves possess but, because it is unhealed, it results in toxic defence mechanisms kicking in and harm rippling out to others on a large scale.
This book is therefore a book in two parts. In part one we look at the way in which shame creates toxic personalities and harmful behaviours, such as that which we see in our national and global leaders often today. In part two we then talk about how the shame many feel can be healed through mindfulness, acceptance and self compassion. The key is understanding ourselves in the context we are in and being present with our feelings from moment to moment.
This is a book about shame; it's nature, it's power, it's consequences and the path to healing from it.
