pickAn overdue review!
This is a great book for people with autism or people who think they have autism. I love it for three main reasons:
1. It‘s written by a person who has autism. Everything they share is from personal experience.
2. The essays are short and easy to follow.
3. It includes Jackie‘s amazing art.

I loved this LGBTQIA+ YA romance. The title is based on the song "Friday I'm in Love" by The Cure. The book discusses sexual orientation, race, class, and music. An excellent read for music lovers during Pride Month!

My favorite radio station is Stephen King's Rock N' Roll Station WKIT 100.3 FM. I grew up in Bangor, Maine, USA & still have family there. I often listen to WKIT when I'm driving to visit them.

Read this before a salon appointment. I didn‘t get much out of it, but there were interesting observations about reading and writing. I may try it again in the future.
Ariella sums up my thoughts on gym class: "I honestly think my favorite part of adulthood is that I‘m never forced to play any of those stupid gym class games. That is true freedom."
1. I love visiting my current library to see the library cats. That‘s my favorite memory.
2. I acquire most of my books from the library via cloudLibrary.
3. Recent read - Silent Bird by Reina Lisa Menasche. I share because it mentions a library.

Couldn‘t get into this book. In one chapter the author listed flaws writers could give their characters. They said being sensitive was a character flaw. I was done with the book then (feeling big emotions is not a character flaw!) and I decided bail and move on to something more interesting.

Worst song in the world: “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke. It‘s so icky and creepy. I like to listen to Meghan Trainer‘s “No” after I hear it.
Enjoying this enemies-to-lovers workplace romance. Listened to some of it on an #audiowalk today. The chemistry between the characters is 🔥🔥🔥
I discovered Nick Drake‘s music two months ago. I love his Pink Moon album. I‘ve been listening to this audiobook about his life. I‘ve enjoyed it so far.

I just saw the #TuesdayTunes hashtag and I am in love. Books + music? Yes, please! Starting with Andy Gibb's biography this week. A glimpse into the life of artist who died way too young.

I love how vulnerable and open the author is about her emotional experiences.
Borrowed this audiobook from cloudLibrary to practice Spanish and/or have something to fall asleep to. It‘s surprisingly calming so far. I like the narrator‘s voice
I just learned Gracie Gold has ADHD. I can't articulate how profound this quote is. Fellow ADHDers, especially those diagnosed later in life, will understand.
I‘m 50% through. Powerfult read. Similar to Jennette McCurdy‘s I‘m Glad My Mom Died. A deeply personal, emotionally raw memoir with potentially triggering topics- depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, sexual assault, eating disorders, dysfunctional family, etc. Take your time reading if you‘re a trauma survivor. I want to finish now but taking a break to process. It‘s a lot.
I requested that this book be added to Litsy. I‘ve requested for books to be added before. They were never added. I hope this one will be. Update - it‘s added!

This quote is my biggest issue with this book. To say that the average autistic person acts manipulative is untrue. It's also untrue that the average autistic person expects others to assimilate to their needs. It may be true for some people with autism, including this author. But it's not true for all people with autism.
so-soThis book is centered on how the author, who has autism herself, experiences grief. It is not reflective of how all autistic people grieve, but the author presents it that way. This is problematic. It‘s written for an allistic audience (people who are not autistic.) Her one-sided perspective may give allistics the idea all autistic people are the same. I recommend this book, but encourage readers to remember her way of grieving is not universal.
so-soI have mixed feelings about this book. I read it in three days & mostly enjoyed it. The main character JP was endearing, although he could have been better developed. The puppy side story was cute, but it took away from the murder plot. The story was unfocused. The surprise twist ending was clever but underwhelming. I think the series has potential. I will read the next book.
My first dark mafia romance read/listen. I enjoyed this audiobook.
