Grover Cleveland, Again!
Grover Cleveland, Again!: A Treasury of American Presidents | Ken Burns
6 posts | 2 read | 2 to read
The instant New York Times bestseller! A gorgeous collection of American presidents filled with fun facts and sparkling with personality, from nonfiction master Ken Burns. This special treasury from America's beloved documentarian Ken Burns brings the presidents to life for our nation's children. Each president is given a lushly illustrated spread with curated stories and information to give readers of all ages a comprehensive view of the varied and fascinating characters who have led our nation (with the exception of Grover Cleveland--the only president to serve two non-consecutive terms--who gets two spreads!). A must-have for Ken's many fans, classrooms, and anyone who wishes to gain a greater understanding and appreciation for our country. "A buoyant gallery, up to date, handsomely framed, and, in this particular election year, timely too."--Kirkus Reviews From the Hardcover edition.

The upside of having a History major of a husband is the love of all things history my kids have. We find such fun books for them to immerse themselves in.

I've seen this a few times, yesterday read about it in the #nerdybookclub email, and today I bought it at the bookstore.

Who else is giving their kids books for Christmas? Here is what has arrived so far for my daughters (ages 10, 13 and 15). Any other recommendations for me?

I am happy to live in a world where there is a market for Junior Novelizations of the biography of Grover Cleveland.

I want to write the alt-history sequels, in which Grover Cleveland wins a third, fourth, (tenth) non-consecutive term. "Sorry, Obama. One term is enough for you! We're going to give good old Cleveland another shot!"

Readingrobin I picked up an advance copy of this at ALA Midwinter and got it signed by Ken Burns. 8y
