If you‘re even a casual fan of The Bachelor, you need to read this. Amy Kaufman did a TON of research and I‘ve never read a more comprehensive look at this show. It will give you a much clearer lens to watch the show through. You‘ll never watch it the same again.

I hated Me Before You but loved Louisa Clark. So I tried After You and didn‘t hate it. But this one - this one I LOVED. I devoured it in less than 24 hours. I think this is Louisa at her best. If you enjoy Louisa Clark at all or romantics comedies, you‘ll like this.

This is a thriller that actually makes you take your time through the first half of the book and that makes you feel like you understand Anna‘s clulessness a little better. The ending gave me the edge-of-my-seat feeling you come to a thriller for. Definitely a good one and I can‘t wait for the movie.

A beautiful middle grade novel written in verse about a young refugee and her family starting over in Alabama after the Vietnam War. Because of the limited words, every single one packs a punch. Lai really makes you feel her refugee experience as a young girl trying to fit in on top of learning a new language and culture while grieving for lost family members.

A short, sweet novella reminding us about the importance of your family and spending time with them. Honestly, anything Backman writes will probably get a pick from me.

I don‘t know if I just went in with expectations that were too high because Matthew Weiner is the creator of Mad Men. I love that show and was so excited to read his first book. But it felt unfinished. Like it was the outline for a larger novel either a Mad Men feel. In the end, I just felt underwhelmed and like I‘d missed out on a better, longer story. It had more potential.

Oh my. This is a heavy book for a middle grade reader but one that they need to read. It‘s definitely the kind of book that will change a kid‘s life. The story is heartbreaking and inspiring and just amazing. I cried all the way through the ending of all three stories and then felt inspired to do something to help. I love this book.

Casper Gray is just living his very normal suburban life with no surprises when he makes a discovery one night that makes him start feel very uneasy. I read this in less than 24 hours because I had to know how it all turned out. And Les Zig makes you love the main character. You want to cheer him on and want him to stand up for himself. It‘s not a life-altering novel and that‘s okay. It‘s a real story with a lot of emotion and it‘s really good.

Even though I was born in the 80‘s and I‘m not a gamer, Ernest Cline wrote this story and characters to be so engaging with plenty of explanations that I really enjoyed it. I told my husband the synopsis, who is a gamer, and he was surprised that I enjoyed the story at all. It was a fun and exciting read with just the right amount of action for me. I‘m not sure I‘ll see the movie because the trailer looks really different from the book to me.

I started reading this today while sitting in a coffee shop and it‘s sooo good! I described it to my husband and now he‘s genuinely interested which is a big deal. He‘s not generally a reader.

I read this in the week leading up to Halloween and it was the perfect timing. It took pretty long to get into, but that is probably just me. I‘m not a big sci-fi fan. Once I had the people and the story straight, I couldn‘t stop. The action was paced perfectly and engaging. There were a couple times I felt genuinely scared. The writing and descriptions were other-worldly. A couple times I reread sentences to just take them in. ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

This was such a funny and timely novel that makes you really think about our current political climate and how to handle it. The main theme is to remind you that your voice matters and anyone can cause change. It‘s a short novel that packs a big punch.

That is one of the most Vermont things I‘ve ever read.

I'm not usually a fan of sci-fi but I read that this was described as an American Doctor Who. That hooked me. That is pretty accurate and it's the aspect that kept me reading. Other than that, I felt like the book just alternated between explanations for history travel and nail-biting action which is not my cup of tea. Personally, I did not love it. I didn't enjoy this one as much as The Girl on the Train but it was still really good. Every time I thought I had it figured out, I just didn't. I was guessing all the way up to the last page. I love when writers keep me on the edge like that!

I'm not sure what I expected this to be like, but I didn't expect it to give me such a new perspective on Congress and our government. I also think it may have helped me decide who I'm voting for. I love when books have such unexpected effects on me.

On the last page of the book, this one sentence made me feel like I can be just as courageous as these men.

The chapters of their lives are so similar even though they were caused by such different events. Maybe the combinations of these chapters is what has made them so captivating for decades.

Such a basic element of life that is it universally shared by all living things and this author made me understand a dog's mindset so perfectly because of it.

This book wasn't nearly as lighthearted as her others and there was very little character development. I thought one sister's story was quirky and the other's was just annoying. But I couldn't stop reading it because I related WAY too much with one sister. I feel like I learned some things about myself and I love that even a so-so book can still make an impact.

I haven't read this yet, but after seeing Shonda speak at the National Book Festival, I can't wait!

It took a little while to get the characters straight but the story flows so smoothly. It filled part of the hole Downton Abbey left in my heart.

This one was a little different from the others in the sense that there wasn't a healthy girl friendship in it. The tone of the overall story felt heavier than the others. The thing I love about Liane's stories is that she keeps you on your toes the whole time. Even after you find out what happened at the barbecue, there were still twists all the way up to the last chapter that I did not see coming. In my opinion, another great one by Liane.

I checked this out at the library 3 times before I could really get into it. It starts slow but once you learn everyone's storyline, it sucks you in. You're just rooting for Hugh to realize he wants to be with Beatrice. The second half is where all the drama is and halfway through, I could not stop. It was great for my Downton Abbey withdrawals because of the coy sarcasm and wit. Of course, it's the kind of book you enjoy with a nice cup of tea.

I literally could not put this down. Not because of beautiful writing but because my favorite world came back to life. The script format took some getting used to and I can tell it took a toll on J.K.'s writing style. But the story was amazing and just as magical as I had hoped for.
