kspenmoll @Tnovo Finished the book. I did think it could have been shortened in places, & at times found Victor irritating, tedious. But scenes of Paris, exhibition & multi cultural markets with inferences regarding colonialism, imperialism, paternalism of the time, treating colonists as "pets" oddities, etc that came through interested me ( history major). Mystery not so much. 8y
