For the most part, this was a fast-paced middle-grade adventure. The story follows young Oliver Pitts as he attempts to make his way to London to track down his father and sister. Along the way he runs into his father's various enemies, as well as a few well-connected thieves. Every so often, the story started to feel a bit repetitive, but in Avi's usual style it quickly veered back on track.
